When Do The Innovations Stop?!

I think I might be crying…a little.

Now before you read any further – no, I don’t work for a massive office supplies conglomerate; no, I do not own stock in Sharpie and yes, I have a problem with obsessively purchasing office/organizational supplies. (There are worse addictions you know…I do organizational supplies and shoes, some people do crack. Whatevs.)

In my most recent post, in which I fantasized about the possibility of ending
Persistent Dry Tip forever, a fellow reader mentioned something to me that inspired me to post immediately. Literally, it sent me into a dither. (Did I just say “dither”? Did I even use that word correctly? Please advise…) Miss M commented that she had seen…

a commercial…

(Wait for it.)

for…

(Oh, it’s good…totally worth the wait.)

(Are you sitting down?)

(Because you should be.)

a no-bleed, fine point Sharpie!!!

No bleeding!! Sharpie!! Fine point!! So many colors to choose from!!!

(Insert me grasping frantically for a piece of furniture so I don’t fall over after my display of energetic enthusiasm.)

Ok, some details. (Check it out for yourself too! Again, it’s in the side bar thingy…I still don’t know how to insert a photo.) It does not bleed through paper and is fine point like a pen. It is smear proof when dry, permanent and water proof. It is a Sharpie masquerading as a pen…I die.

The listing possibilities are endless. And beyond my wildest imagination…

  • I *heart* the Sharpie pen!

One disclaimer: it is only for paper. It will not write on fabrics or plastics.

To add to your excitement: Costco sells a jumbo pack of the Sharpie pens for much less than they cost at Staples.

  • Whoo hoo!! (Cut to me jumping in my car and racing off to Costco.) Thanks!

  • I love the new Sharpie fine oint…great for grading papers! And I totally understand about office supplies…I have a ridiculously large collection of pens and pencils. They just make too many cool tools!

  • My name is Kimberly and I'm addicted to pink and purple pens! It's so bad that last June I overheard one of the kids say to another . . . don't use Miss M's pink, she likes those, use the black one – she won't care! Now, mind you I've never said – don't use my stuff! Wonder if the new Sharpie will do colors?

  • No bleeding?!? It's b/c of the dang bleeding that I resorted to Crayola fine points for my essay grading. I must invest in this miracle invention! 🙂

Side note – several years ago a student said to me to stop grading her essays in pretty colors b/c she felt that meant I was mocking her – 🙂 – I was only to use red 🙂

  • Its not that I want to overwhelm (and possibly kill) you Ms. Mimi…

    Its that I have to!

Refillable dry erase markers that don´t dry out slowly & can be ¨restarted¨if they do.

  • Mimi,
I just saw the sharpie pen commercial! I'm heading off to buy school supplies for one of my kids and I'm going to pick some up! I do love sharpie!!

  • I know I'm a little later (oh, wonderful summer vacation!), but I just HAD to add . . .
The fine tip Sharpies are literally the greatest thing ever created. I discovered them at the end of last year and will never use another pen. Ever.
